Zara Walker Logan, LCSW

Hi, I’m Zara! I work with teens and adults navigating chronic trauma, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, neurodivergence, and the lasting effects of childhood experiences. My focus is on helping you build a more compassionate relationship with yourself, understand your inner emotional world, and explore how the past may be shaping your present.

My approach is rooted in curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for your lived experience. I integrate talk therapy with somatic practices to help you connect with what your body and emotions are holding. I don’t believe you need to be “fixed”—you’re not broken. Instead, I support you in uncovering what’s beneath your pain or stress so you can move toward clarity, self-acceptance, and meaningful change.

I offer an affirming, inclusive space that honors all aspects of who you are. I'm especially committed to acknowledging how systemic issues—like racism, cultural identity, and LGBTQIA+ experiences—affect mental health and shape how we move through the world. Whether you're managing long-term stress, silencing a critical inner voice, or seeking deeper self-understanding, therapy with me is a place to reconnect with your most authentic self.

Background

I earned my Bachelor of Social Work and my Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia.

Over the past several years, I’ve worked closely with children, teens and adults in a variety of settings, including crisis intervention and outpatient therapy. My experience also includes community-based work, where I supported young people and their families in navigating complex emotional and behavioral challenges. I’m passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, empowered, and understood.
